 Mike Looks In/Ask the Fans

With only one day down, it seems the voting already has clinched that Mike will participate in the Open Tryout. Congrats to you buddy, we're also trying to get a couple of media people to join you. That should really be interesting. Jake Gutierrez anyone?

It's the offseason now, so we're starting to reconsider everything about everything in the front office. I know we've asked you these things before, but we'll ask again. What do you want to see most in 2009. Do you like that times have changed to 7:30 p.m.? Did you like the bus program this year? Let us know of any ideas and/or preferences you have in the comments section.

  1. I would like to see more of the players at more public events. They can be a good chance for fans to get to know the players.

  2. I think we should change the Rolling Stones song, Painted Black to...

    ...Painted Blue!

    Somebody work on that.

...No Red Bulls anymore I want them to turn Blue...

...No more will we see our Cup leave with the Columbus Crew...

  3. More free stuff for STH's. We didn't get our t-shirt last season. And please get some better merchandise.....there weren't many nice t-shirts to choose from. Everything looked like the jersey. MLSGear didn't even have much to buy.

  4. I smell conspiricy... If Mike trys out and makes the squad, Down the Byline will bw done, and Hillcrest will be in the lead for KC's best sports blog next year...

  5. 7:30's much better. Less blinding sun...wouldn't mind 8.

  6. Afternoon kickoff times during cold-weather months would be cool.

  7. 7:30 starts? Merely puts some of us on the road home a half hour later. Instead of hitting the sack at 2:00 AM... I'll be making it around 2:30 AM. Hey, what's another 30 minutes of lost sleep before church?

Plus... that's 30 minutes less of daylight for good photos. Oh well. Whaaaaa.

  8. 8pm would've been the best option to me, but 7:30 is a good choice. It gives people extra time to get out to the stadium, especially on Wednesdays. There is less sun to deal with, and more tailgating.

Games end at a predictable time and will still end well before a Royals game.

As for what I'd like to see from the FO - just keep doing anything and everything you can to get the stadium done. There will surely be more roadblocks thrown in the way next year. Obviously it's the most important thing for the short and long-term future of the club.

More goals would be nice too, but I don't want to give up the progress our defense made overall this year to get them.

I'd like to see the sports editor of the Star embedded in the Cauldron for a big match in 2009. We need to convince them this is a team with passionate, loyal fans that deserve committed coverage.
